Create, Modify, and Import Custom Reports

The Tracer Ensemble Report Designer allows you to create meaningful, customized reports with minimal effort. You select the system, building, and equipment data point(s), set time parameters, and add graphics and text to the report.

 

To access the Report Designer to create a new report:

To import custom report definitions:

  1. Click Reports | Manage Reports.
  2. Click the Custom Reports tab.
  3. Click Create Custom Report.

 

To modify an existing report:

  1. Click Reports | Manage Reports.
  2. Click the Custom Reports tab.
  3. Click on the report name.

 

Report Set Up

Select the Canvas Size for your report and page layout (portrait or landscape).

 

Adding Content to Reports

The Report Canvas in the middle of your screen is where you arrange report elements. Individual elements can be resized by dragging their borders or moved by clicking and dragging.

The tool palette on the left-hand side of the screen allows you to add elements to your report by dragging them onto your canvas. Elements and their associated properties are described below. Click each element to view further details.

 

Charts

Chart Type

Description

Bar

Use a Bar Chart to compare and contrast groups of data, such as average energy usage for a particular space at different times throughout the day. More information on Bar Charts

Line

Use a Line Chart to show data trends, such as space temperature and humidity during a specific time period. More information on Line Charts

Scatter

Use a Scatter Chart to show a relationship between two sets of data, for example how much energy is used in relation to temperature changes. More information on Scatter Charts

Histogram

Use a Histogram to analyze the frequency of data, such as the number of spaces that are within a temperature range. More information on Histograms

Pie

Use a pie chart to show the relative size of each value type as compared to the whole. There are three types of pie charts available:

  • Multiple data sources for one time period

  • Single data source for multiple time periods

  • Custom

Description

Single Value

Use a Single Value to report on one specific data point, such as a space temperature. More information on Single Value

Values Table

Use a Values Table to convey multiple data points in table form, such as airflow, occupancy, and space temperature for a specific space. More information on Values Table

Data Log Table

Use a Data Log Table to display a data log. More information on More information on Data Log Table:

To add new elements to your report :

  1. Drag the element from the tool palette to the report canvas.
  2. On the right side of the screen, enter the Data Value Properties.
  3. Drag the element to the desired place on your report canvas. To resize the element, grab the lower-right corner and resize.

 

Importing Report Definitions

To import custom report definitions:

  1. Click Reports | Manage Reports.
  2. Click the Custom Reports tab.
  3. Click Import Custom Report.
  4. Browse for the local file and click Import.
