Build and Use Custom Data Sources
The equation editor allows you build complex data sources for use in custom reports.
To access the equation editor, in the custom report editor, click Manage Equations in the report toolbar.
Manage Equations
Custom Equations are listed on the Manage Equations page. Any custom equations built for this report are listed. Note that equations are report specific. Equations built for another report in your account are not available for different reports.
To access an existing equation, click on the equation name.
To delete one or more equation, select the equation(s) and click Delete.
To create a new equation:
- Click Create Equation.
- Enter an Equation Name.
- Select an Equation Type.
- Total Power Per Area and Total Power are standard equations, allowing you to quickly build a data source.
- Custom allows your to build a complex data source by creating a custom equation.
Pre-Defined Equations
To build a standard equation:
- Select a Building Name.
- Select the Equipment.
- Select the Property Name.
- Select a Data Log.
- Click Add Meter to Equation.
- Enter the Total Area and click Use this Value in Equation. (Only for Total Power per Area).
- Click Save.
Custom Equations
To build a custom equation:
- Select a Data Source using the drop down menus. The menus will update dynamically based on your selections.
- Create a Nickname for the data source (optional). Use of nickname(s) may make your equation easier to understand.
- Click Insert into Equation to include the selected data source in the equation.
- Use the provided operators and number functions to perform calculations.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until your equation is complete.
- Enter an Equation Name.
- Click Save to save your equation.
